On today’s episode of the Agile Chuck Wagon, Chuck compares two kinds of groups: communities of practice and centers of excellence. Both are full of people who are passionate about their topic, but the purpose and composition of a CoP and a CoE are different. Communities of practice contain peers who meet to learn more about their topic from each other and to share their passion. Centers of excellence have experts as members, and focus more on authoritative activities like publishing guidance.
